Goodbye Lukla!

lots of goodbyes to friends this morning as they honored me with khatas and blessings. Needless to say… I sobbed my way through and we hurried for the plane before another front could move in…,magical place with such special people….

Angels

these two ladies were my angels in Lukla… Fed us, loaned clothes and blankets, kept us warm.,,, said goodbye this morning but can’t wait for our paths to meet again!

Day 4 in Lukla

thought we were getting out but another front moved in quickly! Babita and I were all dressed and packed in about 2 seconds time! No go.,,,

We have been working on ENG long term relief proposal while stuck. Thank goodness for the kindness of our friends and new friends here. We have borrowed coats and blankets, are asked into homes to share tea and food and feel very cared for.

I must admit I am dying for a warm shower and clean clothes, but in comparison to the families in tents for housing and all belongings gone that are all around us…we are waiting a matter of days… No end in site for them… We are doing really really well… Still so blessed

Living in the Clouds

Lukla these past three days in the monsoons is hard to describe it is living in the clouds literally. The clouds hang on the mountains at this high altitude and it is very dangerous for planes and helicopters to get in or out so they talk between mountains and wait for a break and everyone scurries to get the plane out and through before the front changes… We are waiting for that break … Day 4

Lukla

off the Everest Trail and back in Lukla! This is Tika… Our 17 year old porter. He reminded me of Bryce with his mischievous personality. He did an amazing job on the trek.!
