DawaDonga

This beautiful lady lives in a very remote village. She has five children , is 59 years old and her son stays and helps with her tea house. She says we are “sisters” and gave me a wool wrap that her mother left her two of ” one for me, one for you! Moments I will never forget!

Reading Glasses

This lady is raising her niece, who is an ENG girl! When we visited their home she said she wanted her niece to be able to do “whatever she wanted” and was so grateful for the scholarship! She said her dream was to learn to read but her eyes were no longer good. We have her reading glasses… Amazing moment! She was so strong, and numerous and warm..,

Children

We spent the day at a scholarship ceremony at the school, making bracelets, singing, dancing, giggling, interviewing, and taking Polaroids. We visited families around the village… I fell in love with Astha in 4th grade and her friend Rama….
Right at sundown we visited with a family of one of our girls Bipana, who lives with aunt and uncle-parents are gone . Aunt was wonderful-shared her dream was to learn to read but her eyes were too bad… We have her reading glasses! She was thrilled! She said she wanted her niece to be ” whatever she wanted to be”-made us all cry!
Another little girl had to leave for a 2 hour walk over the mountain to make it home-Purnima
