Things Are Coming Together

Wow what a day… Started with radio spots for the ENG clay shooting charity event that will happen the week I get home from Nepal. Then balanced parent meetings at LSMSA orientation and packing. I finally narrowed my personal packing down to just a few items-no room with all the supplies! My id tag and the surgical headlamps came by fedex the final medical supplies picked up, the global phone plan negotiated, and the visa application completed…Now the packing begins… Yikes!!!

CHANGE OF PLAN

Got a call from the leprosy mission  today… I agreed to transport  surgical headlights and deliver. Using for surgery in rural area tent hospitals. Change in schedule-leaving Sunday!!!’ So honored to assist the physician team volunteers with Samaritan’s Purse!

Need Shelter

i drove from the airport in alexandria this morning at 4:30 am and was in the storm that passed through. When I had to pull off the highway because i couldn’t see the road I sat and thought of families under tarps with the monsoons coming. So, I sat on the side of the road and began to connect in Nepal to broker tents and tarps, any type of shelter… Leaving human beings out in those elements with no shelter is just unacceptable… We have to do better.

The Gift of Light

LuminAID sent donated solar lights

to my front door to be taken to Nepal and distributed! What an honor to be able to give the gift of light to over 200 families living under tarps with the monsoons coming. Thank you LuminAID! Great partnership with ENG!

Immunizations

immunizations finished except malaria pills I take while there… Took them ALL at once and felt like a human pin cushion in both arms! It’s all good… One step closer.
