We took over the lodge’s kitchen and cooked Nepali/American dinner together. We had Momo’s, chicken spaghetti, peanut butter & chocolate chip cookies, and carrot pudding.

Heartfelt and amazing presentation by ENG staff members regarding Current ENG status, success, and challenges

We tried a “painting with a twist” activity with the shadow of a woman. We made the canvases from Popsicle sticks and string. The girls all individualized the paintings and many incorporated ENG.

Each of the fifteen girls used what they learned to create a PowerPoint. Here is Prakrati’s as an example. Some girls had to learn how to turn the computers on and others had experience so they worked in level small groups. Those of you that contribute are changing lives.

Starting Day 2 with an interactive computer workshop to teach the girls to utilize the donated computers for them to use in their studies. We brought computers in our carry-ons luggage and I am amazed as the students are working together to build tables and powerpoints using information about themselves that will lead to an ice breaker game. Great job NSU

We are spending three days in the mountains with fifteen of our university level scholarship girls to conduct leadership trading. First day included arrival, speed friending, a strenuous ( for us) hike through the villages and mountains, dinner, games and dancing!

Our Nepal girls came over and cooked dinner for us to celebrate Erica’s Birthday. Their handmade cards are so beautiful! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Grocery shopping is just a wee bit different here. We are buying ingredient to makes chicken spaghetti and cookies with our ENG girls this weekend

One of my favorite parts of ENG work is conducting home visits. It is a very personal time with families to sit quietly over tea and build relationships. Today we broke into groups and visited families. Our scholarship girls are so proud to walk us to their homes and share their life with us. Today’s family was so sweet. They rent a small farm that the grandfather, mom & dad work. They mostly grow tomatoes for the small village, have a few goats, a cow, a few chickens, and bees. The parents work so hard so their children can study and have a better life. Their daughter wants to be an “airline hostess” she has only seen a plane on tv or in the sky but she dreams of being in the clouds.
