Test I Week Out

Heading back to Nepal so I’m opening up the blog again. The first 10 days will be spent with eight amazing NSU grad students working, training, volunteering, and soaking up the culture. Then I head to the majestic Everest region to continue working at our remote schools.

You are invited to share the journey and follow along!

  2. Greetings Dr. Moulton. Thank you for opening the blog so that we may all vicariously share this amazing journey. Our family (Rothman) has anxiously awaited this incredible opportunity in months leading up to this week. First of all, my husband and I would like to thank you and your team for providing your students this opportunity of a lifetime. The memories the grad students will make are sure to last a lifetime. Very few will have the occasion to embrace such a warm, rich, impoverished culture. For that, we owe you a debt of gratitude. I will prudently await your post updates.

When Alec forwarded me your list to help him collect necessary items for the trip, I noticed that you had suggested putting together family photos. Of course me being that “extra” Mom (lol,) I created a Google photo book of his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, and pets. What Alec did not know was, I captioned the photos in Nepalese. I advised Alec that the students will have to translate what is in the photo. I thought this might be an opportunity for him (a male) to connect with the students on a personal level.

On a side note, I asked him to take lots and lots of pictures. Being the “guy,” they are normally not the subject, but the photo takers lol. So hopefully, he will document the students and the wonderful work that your team will accomplish. Our community in South Florida is pulling for the mission. Many have donated to scholarship funding for Empowering Nepali Girls. I can not wait to update everyone through photos and messages. Safe travels. Godspeed to all.

    • Thank you so much for the note and for all the support. I’m very excited about these next few weeks in Nepal and I look forward to sharing special moments with everyone. Alec is a great team member and I expect this trip will be life-changing for him., for them all!
