Heading out for Everest region early tomorrow! Whirlwind trek to all our schools up past Namche and down. I can’t wait to be back and see our girls again!

UNICEF & United Nations House
Today was an honor to attend meetings with prestigious change organizations. We are learning so much and finding amazing resources to share with our girls. Thank you Jaya for sharing the amazing work that UNICEF has prepared for adloescents in Nepal. Babi & I had a wonderful day of learning. We came out of meetings into a storm while riding home on the motorcycle so we took shelter and a VIP of hot tea at Rising Rays Schoole with the sweet Bhattarai family! Love them! Great day!

Pollution Solution
We had meetings at the embassy across the city today and the pollution was extraordinarily bad. A girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do to get the job done! Not our finest fashion hour but it had a badass quality to it. 😎 We learned about the American Embassy Library resources, MOOCS, and Regional English Language Programs. These hold possibilities for programming for our older girls.
A moment of Love
Windows to the Soul
Our eyes tell the stories of happiness, pain, joy, hope, desperation and defeat. These children have the most beautiful deep eyes that tell stories no child should know. This unspoken pain is what keeps me asking and keeps me coming back. The children often look directly into your eyes and say “don’t forget me” as a plea for help as we depart. There is no way to erase the impact of those moments.
Unforgettable
Two hours sqatting next to a shaded wall sharing time with the “Moms Club” nothing compares to the connection and support that is made through the effort to communicate our hearts. The eye contact is so intense and the curiosity so raw and rare. Beautiful souls. We live in such vastly different worlds and these ladies have my full respect, admiration, and love. I feel so honored to spend time with them.
Love Them
Sitting on the floor at Little Moon listening to our girls update us about their levels of study. They are so very brave & beautiful! I am so proud of each and every one of them and I love them all! They inspire me in ways I can’t begin to describe. Some of these girls are SO young, live far away from their families, work for their keep, are responsible for themselves and caring for others, and manage to excel in school. It really puts so many things into perspective.
