We ate at an outdoor cafe while it poured rain and we sat cozy watching people scurry for cover. Next, a walk along the Charles Bridge leading to the castle at sunset. This bridge was built by King Charles IV and was completed in the 15th century. The guard towers are immense and it is lined with baroque statues of patron saints. The most famous is St. John that was martyrd on the bridge in 1393. The bridge is a lesson in history, religion, and mysticism. It is believed that if you touch the plaque of the Saint in just right way, paying homage to the stars you will ensure your return to Prague. Touching the fallen priest fulfills a wish in a year and a day. We will see! Our walk home included a traditional chimney cone and ice cream!!!!
