Babi, Pasang, Funuru & volunteers also worked to organize scholarship supplies for delivery during this trip. We are so proud of our ENG scholarship girls!
You made this happen! I missed you so today. The kids were so excited and the teachers were full of joy and smiles! You did a wonderful thing!!! We were able to find everything on their wish list! I love you guys! It was important to me to see this finished because of all your support and love Sari, you helped the entire time by keeping me afloat wish support while here.
So, remember the carpenter and desk that left yesterday from kathmandu to arrive before us in Bahandada? Yep! We made it to Besisahar to transfer all the materials to jeeps to get them up the mountain, look across the road and SURPRISE! Our desk are just sitting across the road in a field…. 40 of them.
We’ve got this!!!! See you at the top!
Played with baby owl on rest break. Our drive has been crazy! So, need a nerve break! We have total chaos on these severely narrow roads with goats, dogs, cats, monkeys, trucks, vans, children, motorbikes and US! All going breakneck speed around hairpin turns with drop offs! I needed the owl distraction!
The monsoon season has is at hand and heavy rains have started. There is no way to describe the effect of this to the people living in open shelters with no foundations. We made our way to Bhaktipur for delivery of supplies and final arrangements for construction. We set up a playroom with no electricity. It is wet and cold with no way to dry things out, just hot tea & noodles to warm from the inside. This school is so sweet and the principle and his wife work extra hard to provide for the children. This school is adopted by St. Mary’s Catholic a School in Natchitoches and the students are raising the money for the safe learning space project… Impressive!
