Today’s Favorite Moment

When word spread at Rising Rays school that materials had arrived there was much excitement but when the skeleton model was spotted the kids swarmed the windows and doors. They all just wanted a peek! So so cute. I think the science and English/computer teachers were equally pumped!

Early Start!

Out and about at 5:00am this morning. Got Babita started to Chitwan! I headed to Rising Ray to sort through science lab materials. They are so excited! A meeting with Women a Lead program director and getting ready to lecture for 3 hours.

Big Day

Today is the day all large orders (furniture, books, pre-k, and science) are to be picked up so we have vehicles ready and are about to head out! We are attempting to load everything for 3 schools in Chitwan separately and make a run for it this week. IF today falls in line the flooring and furniture leave early morning with Babi while I stay for follow through on progress for 3 Kathmandu schools and I follow with all remaining supplies by plane on Tuesday morning. VERY ambitious goal! Let’s do this….Drumroll please…..

Too Much

The first week of school has obviously just been too much for this little angel. He is the one that kept falling apart on the first day, he is just adorable sleeping so soundly on his book back as the other children were yelling and playing close by.

No Time to Spare

These photos explain the entire day! We were all over this city working out payment and transportation of goods. We serve as major entertainment to folks like our sweetheart of  a carpenter.  By the end of the day we checked on progress at schools, had multiple bank transactions, talked the science people into gathering and delivering our musical instruments, set up delivery of library books, settled with Montessori, flooring, and pillows, lost an argument over containers, had pillows delivered, and shared an incredible lunch that Nita prepared special for us! On the way home I had my backpack stuffed full, my groceries hanging off my back, and bookshelves in my arms. This girl was filthy and exhausted. Now I’m full ( thanks Nita), clean, and exhausted. Good exhausted!

First Flooring

Success! We made an executive decision to send flooring across Kathmandu by cab after the floor guy told us he couldn’t deliver. When there is a will…there is a way. So, after stopping about 4 cabs that thought we were crazy (very observant fellas) and said no way, this guy felt said ok. He did attempt to raise the fare AFTER the car was loaded but we stood firm! Flooring delivered!
