Little Helers/Observers

And these little faces were close at hand with eyes of wonder and excitement, smiles ear to ear, and lots of courage to try to practice their English for even a moment. Just so precious!!!!

Unpacking the Resource Room

Wow, so many things I didn’t anticipate that are moments I will forever treasure. The room was a frenzied of excitement. I knew this would be new materials for the kids but I didn’t realize that the teachers had never seen teaching resources like these and had no idea how to use them. They were SO sweet and so ready to learn, and so excited, not to mention thankful. I’m the one who got the gifts!

they couldnt wait to see what came out of the boxes and would chater in excitement over every item and then want to try it!

Up and coming Nepali rock stars, no doubt, testing the speaker system

a few of the musical instruments /traditional drums. i

Demonstration on how to use flash cards when teaching. We had a full lesson on nepali/English words for farm animals!!!! So so much fun, they were so into the exercise!

i thought this butterfly was to entertain the little children. it did a great job of entertaining the teachers as they flew it around the room

these lovely teachers had never seen a puppet before so we demonstrated how to use the puppet/s in teaching and they caught right on! most teaching in Nepal is strictly rote learning so this was like another crazy planet for them.

Sharanpur Resource Room

I really don’t know where to start to explain the experience today, so I’m going to break it into pieces to hold on to the details although I can’t imagine ever forgetting these moments. I apologize for the blog post coming but it really is for my own documentation and keepsake, I can print a book from my blog. So feel free to ignore my many post.

When we got to the school and these big trucks came rolling in the gate, the children and teachers came pouring out of the rooms with huge smiles and welcomes. Immediately the kids started unloading like little ants to the new library space.

Official Approval

This is what official approval looks like. There are no words to explain  the amount of time, work, energy, and negotiation that goes into what seems to be such a simple process. SO relieved to have these final documents in hand! Our ENG team rocks!!!
