The rain and ice have made us stop short for safety reasons. Most of the tea. Houses have closed due to weather, no running water, and staff gone back to Kathmandu. Our Sherpa simply find us rooms and begin, as a team, to cook our meals. Our lodging is very humble-not heat, no hot water, shared facilities- not western, and if we are lucky, a fire in a common room. It is odd how content I feel and how wonderful the way we all take care of each other! I will miss this sense of community and caring..,,whatever you have belongs to everyone…,

Final School Visit!
We made it down safely to the village for our final school visit. We were late, exhausted, and looking a tad rough but nothing wrong that the smiles and hugs from the children couldn’t make right! My legs were so tired I didn’t think I could climb to the school but I would have crawled to see these wonderful children. The kids were in exams so the visit was limited but So Worth It All!
Weather NOT Cooperating!
Today we were supposed to make it to our final scent to Manang but Mother Nature had other plans.. No longer just beautiful snow but now a snow and ice storm moving in which means we need to descend quickly! Very icy and rather scary coming down as the day wore on..,
Village Children
As we walk through villages there are so many beautiful children. Even the tiny ones smile and tell us “Namaste” meaning my soul honors your soul… Makes us catch our breath every time… Just indescribable what this does to me…
Meals
We have eaten very very differently than usual…. The repeat of plates of carbs… Pasta, potatoes, fried rice, and Dahl bhat are the daily staples. Virtually no meat and fresh vegetables in small amounts as sides or mixed in. The food is designed for energy to climb climb climb!!!!! It is fabulous!
New Years Eve!
Made it to Pisang! Hot showered and warm stove!!!! It is the small things that become so important!!!! Great time together with our Nepali team… We sang and danced and had lots of laughs! We had a lovely evening in a little tea house in the middle of the Himilayas!!’
Traveling UP UP UP!!!!
As we travel up towards Pisang the weather changes to snow and the landscape to beautiful woods! Seeing families in these remote areas working so hard to survive….yet everyone is so warm and welcoming and sharing
