Snow and Rain Storms
Did I mention that snow and rain storms are intense in the Himilayas at high altitude?they make conditions very dangerous requiring the skill and experience of the Sherpa to be vigilant about landslides and rushing waterfall crossings… Goodness… More than we bargained for but we walked in and the only way out is to walk backwards! So… Johnny Ho!
Village Kitchens
The kitchens amaze me they are so small and the source of nourishment and warmth. Just a small open fire cooks, heats, drys clothes and provides a place to gather..,, I love the kitchen time. Socks, food, hot tea, laughter, chatter, and meal prep all at once!!!
Resue
The next two days the weather was very solid rain storms that caused us to go very slow watching the rocks above us, the soft areas under our feet, and each step on the slippery icy rocks, the waterfalls were gushing from the rains and snow above us and crossings would have been almost impossible without our Sherpa, who literally carried us across! These guys hearts and dedication to get us down safely meant putting themselves at risk time and time again as they checked safety of areas, walked into swift waterfall currents to literally build safe steps for us , and carried us through dangerous areas. We were all very humbled and greatful. I kept thinking that is we all were more like them what a world we would live in..,,
