We made it back to Kathmandu!!!!
Snack Time
As we trek we stop for hot tea after long climbs. Our choices are black, masala or lemon and all are full of sugar for energy.., much needed! We all empty snacks out of our bags and share… So fun to see what the options are each time… Surprise snacks!
Scenes from the Trail X
Last Night without Nepali Team
Our Sherpas and porters bought us a cake, we had our closing ceremony, and we danced and sang the evening away. I will be forever grateful to this group of guys for the adventure of a lifetime!
Terrifying Jeep Ride
We were all exhausted after making it to our last Annapurna school visit so we arranged for two jeeps to take our team for a harrowing two hour ride to our tea house for the night. As we left there must have been 200 goats blocking the road and they began jumping in front of the jeep as we careened down the mountain… Horns were honking, the path was narrow, muddy and steep, we were all yelling not to hit the goats or run of the edge and the nepali music was blaring! Craziest ride of my life!!!! We were hanging on for dear life!
Bus Ride back to Kathmandu
Such mixed feelings as we head back today… Saying goodbye to our guys was tough… Lots of tears. They returned us safely and taught us about caring for others first. We looked back and saw the spectacular annapurna mountains as we drove back and just couldn’t believe we had been there… Surreal
